Another player in the AI-enabled medical coding space (see: Nym), Fathom is using deep learning and natural language processing to accelerate, automate, and simplify the medical coding and billing process. Coding and billing is at the heart of clinical finance, so it makes sense that there's space for multiple players to grow and succeed up to a certain point. It'll be interesting to see if one or two eventual winners become apparent (or, like other industries, mergers and acquisitions create even more rapid concentration through either horizontal or vertical integration).
