Authorizations...claims...processing...all critical components in the healthcare payment process. Each step, traditionally manual, is an opportunity for errors and, ultimately, an opportunity for reimbursement requests to get rejected for healthcare systems. Enter Akasa - they're building healthcare generative AI (GenAI) specifically for the healthcare billing and revenue lifecycle process. They've been adopted by huge hospital systems already such as Methodist Health System because adding pennies to the dollar makes a huge impact when you're billing hundreds of millions (or even billions) of dollars in medical claims each year. Healthcare is searching for efficiencies everywhere (whether thats in billing, clinical workflows, operational workflows, etc.) and, with OpenAI opening pandora's box of GenAI, we will see more and more areas of healthcare looking for optimizations through GenAI.
