Full Time Medical Receptionist - Irvington Clinic
Job Description
What You'll Do Greet, register, schedule patients, verify insurance and collect copayments. Introduce patients to the Carbon app and help them navigate it as needed. Administrative work such as writing referrals and preparing lab paperwork. Work collaboratively on projects with clinical leadership to enhance the patient experience.
About You Familiar with Apple products, including iPads and Macbooks and troubleshooting. Able to remain focused and calm during stressful situations (high volume of patients that walk-in and need to be registered, calling 911 and directing paramedics to patients that must be sent to the ER, etc). Typing speed of 50+ WPM. Experience with medical insurance preferred (understanding costs, deductibles, copays, coverage), GED/HS diploma required.

The good - Carbon Health boasts a sprawling primary care, urgent care, and telemedicine network cofounded by an experienced team (Eren Bali - Udemy). The bad - they've not been immune to the economic downturn, laying off 25% of its staff in 2022. With that being said, they were extremely active in distributing COVID-19 tests and supporting vaccine administration across California, and have been known to integrate AI into its workflows to make clinicians' lives easier. They seem to be trying to right the ship - here's to hoping they do it. (August 2023)
