According to Cardiosense, more than 6 million patients in the US live with heart failure, leading to over 1 million hospitalizations annually. But, even more shocking: nearly 50% of patients are re-hospitalized within 6 months of a heart failure hospitalization. Enter Cardiosense, blending a proprietary wearable called the "CardioTag" with novel AI algorithms to help identify patients at risk of decompensated heart failure. Developed over a decade from medical and engineering teams from top institutions Georgia Tech and Northwestern University, they are developing a really interesting blend of hardware and software to help improve patient care.
