The Real Dill ☘️
AI seems to be all the rage, but Ceribell is using AI alongside it's proprietary hardware to accelerate diagnosing seizures in acute care settings. Three terms jump out in some of their news releases: "proprietary, portable, and rapidly deployable" - meaning their lightweight device plus powerful AI algorithm could provide an edge over traditional EEG seizure-detection systems. By all accounts, this seems to be coming to fruition - their July 2024 publication boasted 4 days shorter median ICU length of stay, and a 19 hour faster median time to EEG acquisition - both hugely important in the acute care setting.
