    Senior Health Plan Benefits Associate

    Job Description

    The Plan Operations team owns specialized processes that help power our clients' health plans. The Plan Launch team within the Plan Operations department is responsible for acting as the face and the voice of Plan Operations, partnering with cross functional teams to provide a best-in-class new & renewal client implementation process. 

    What you’ll do:

    • Mentor & train team members on current and future Plan Launch Standard Operating Procedures
    • Maintain high levels of collaboration with identified cross-functional stakeholder teams
    • Manage escalations in processes & complimentary standard operating procedure alongside stakeholder teams on behalf of clients & their members
    • Identify & review trends & escalations that impact service performance
    • Develop & manage ad hoc projects based on client need & deliver regular reporting to stakeholders
    • Provide superior plan design implementation & renewal experience for strategic/complex clients

    The employee benefits pool was an attractive area to monetize for startups - if insurers weren't willing to pay, it makes sense that employers would be looking for ways to attract (and retain) top talent, with benefits being a huge portion of it. Countless startups have ridden the employee benefits wave to superstardom (see: Hinge Health), but there is a downside - when the economy experiences a downturn, benefits are one of the first things on the chopping block. Collective Health is not immune to this, as shown by recent layoffs. However, it's hard to believe that employee benefits will totally go away - and there's always going to be a space to manage these benefits more efficiently and effectively. (August 2023)
