Senior/Principal Software Engineer (Ruby on Rails, React)
Job Description
Form Health delivers medical treatment of obesity through telehealth.
Obesity impacts 40% of the US adult population, but only about 1% of patients receive medical treatment for their disease. Form Health makes medical treatment available to everyone.
Form Health helps people lose weight in a medically-supervised environment. Our physicians look at the whole patient and develop an individual, medical approach, including medications when appropriate. All of this: virtual MD visits, interactions with Registered Dietitians, group interactions, meal tracking, and more, is delivered securely via an app on the patient's phone.Β
We launched four years ago on iOS and Android and need an experienced back-end or full-stack engineer to:
- Develop back-end services and clinical tools with Ruby on Rails, Sidekiq, Node (AWS Lambda), GraphQL, and ReactJS
- Drive and support experimentation and rapid iteration of a telemedicine product at scale
- Collaborate with other developers: native mobile, web, back-end/full-stack, and data engineers
- Collaborate with stakeholders to support rapid iteration of internal tools to help our business ...
The Real Dill βοΈ
GLP-1s (such as branded agent Ozempic) have turned the obesity medicine world upside down in the last few years. Literally billions have been spent, and demand is outpacing supply. This makes sense as nearly half of Americans are obese. What's interesting, though, is how the entire obesity treatment industry is evolving based on this buzz. With costs high and access to GLP-1s being restricted by insurance providers, companies like Form Health are taking holistic approaches to weight loss for patients, both with and without GLP-1s as part of the treatment plan. One thing is for certain - we're in the obesity medicine gold rush, and it will be interesting to see how GLP-1s change the arc of the industry now and in the future. (May 2024)
