Sr. Financial Systems Analyst
Job Description
Our mission is to make biology easier to engineer. Ginkgo is constructing, editing, and redesigning the living world in order to answer the globe’s growing challenges in health, energy, food, materials, and more. Our bioengineers make use of an in-house automated foundry for designing and building new organisms.
We are in search of a Senior Financial Systems Analyst with a distinct expertise in NetSuite to take ownership of our NetSuite instance. Reporting directly to the Financial Systems Manager, the Senior Financial Systems Analyst will play a crucial role in supporting our NetSuite instance. This position is expected to have a considerable presence across the organization, taking charge of system enhancements and leading our NetSuite support queue.
Responsibilities
- Lead, own, and deliver the Netsuite ERP application related projects within the defined timeline
- Automate new business processes and enhance the existing ones
- Interact with cross functional business units to define requirements and understand the systems upstream and downstream changes

Startups are private companies, but once they IPO they become "public"...meaning the average person has more access to their financials. In the case of Ginkgo Bioworks, it hasn't generated as much revenue as anticipated, but still has a ton of money in the bank to work on different projects (see the news article on ChatGPT for DNA). It'll be important to monitor its performance over the coming months and years to see how the company evolves considering its previous financial performances, but its definitely working on some really cool initiatives that have implications across healthcare, pharma, food, and more.
