Headspace is one of the original darlings of the digital mental health space, rising rapidly to prominence even before the COVID-19 pandemic. The name is virtually synonomous with the mental health space, enabling its growth across both the consumer and enterprise space. However, their huge initial successes do not make them immune to larger economic forces - see the recent layoffs at Headspace and across the industry. After achieving such massive scale, one has to hope they can make the transition to an enduring company in healthcare considering how many shortfalls in mental health continue to exist.
