Today, 60 million Americans living in rural communities are facing a crisis of access to care. In the U.S. healthcare system, rural Americans experience significantly poorer clinical outcomes. This trend is rapidly accelerating as rural hospitals close and physician shortages increase, exacerbating health disparities. In fact, Americans living in rural communities suffer a mortality rate 23 percent higher than those in urban communities, in part because of the lack of access to quality care.

The Real Dill ☘️
Post-pandemic, the "hospital at home" care movement seems to be evolving. Telehealth-only services remain, but in-person care is making a comeback. The twist - home health, traditionally used in the rehab services setting, is spreading across primary care and other treatment verticals. Enter Homeward Health, incorporating mobile clinics for rural areas, including in-network Medicare status and partnerships in several states. Rural areas are traditionally underserved, and it will be interesting to watch how Homeward Health competes with other companies moving into rural healthcare services, such as Wal-Mart Health.
