Roles & Responsibilities: The Nursing Assistant - Mobility Aid is an individual who functions in a support role to the Registered Professional Nurse or Therapy team by providing direct, mobility-related patient care activities as assigned. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Performs and records patient's vital signs, such as blood pressure, pulse, temperature and respirations. Assists patient with ambulation, transfers out of bed, and all levels of mobilization, as directed by Nursing and Therapy teams. Assists patients in performing ROM, therapeutic exercise and activities of daily living, as directed by Nursing and Therapy teams. Provides for safe and comfortable lifting, positioning and ambulation of patients in accordance with the principles of good body mechanics. Utilizes mechanical devises as necessary. Participates in daily huddles and interdisciplinary rounds related to patient mobility status and goals. Reports pertinent information and observations regarding patients to the registered nurse.
