Description Under the general supervision of the Head Nurse/ADN for the area, and the direct supervision of the nurse(s)-in-charge (HHC), follows clearly established procedures in order to perform routine technical duties necessary for the safe and efficient preparation and operation of dialysis equipment for the Renal Service section of Medicine. Maintains dialysis equipment and area supplies, contributing support to continuity of patient care and highest operational standards. Responsibilities 1. Performs technical tasks necessary for required preparation of Hemodialysis machines for operation: verifies sterility of machinery and equipment before use; checks and primes fluid lines; checks integrity of the dialyzer, transducer protectors, etc. Records activities performed verifying that all preparation duties have been completed. Follows clearly defined instructions when performing all functions. 2. Prepares solutions ands mixes for use in dialysis treatments (dialysis baths, etc.) following clearly defined procedures, formula, and guidelines.
