Description Licensed Practical Nurse - 117th Street Dialysis - MSH - FT Days 5AM to 3:30PM + Alt Sat. The practice of nursing as a Licensed Practical Nurse is defined as performing tasks & responsibilities within the scope of supportive & restorative care; medication administration and specialized tasks under the direction of a Registered Professional Nurse of licensed or otherwise legally authorized physician or dentist. Responsibilities 1. Delivers nursing care in structured & routine situations free of scientific complexity. 2. Assistance with activities of daily living. 3. Administration of treatments and routine tasks such as suctioning and urinary catheterizations. 4. Preparation of patient for surgery, diagnostic tests, treatments, examinations. 5. Administration of medications within scope of practice. Collects, labels and processes specimens accurately. 6. Identification and set up of intravenous equipment and delivery of solutions for infusion through peripheral access devices . 7. Administer blood or blood products, with special training. 8.
