Description Licensed Practical Nurse-Urgent Care-New York Eye and Ear Infirmary of Mount Sinai-8am to 4pm-3 Days, 4pm to 12am-2 Days The practice of nursing as a Licensed Practical Nurse is defined as performing tasks & responsibilities within the scope of supportive & restorative care; medication administration and specialized tasks under the direction of a Registered Professional Nurse of licensed or otherwise legally authorized physician or dentist Responsibilities Delivers nursing care in structured & routine situations free of scientific complexity. Assistance with activities of daily living. Administration of treatments and routine tasks such as suctioning and urinary catheterizations. Preparation of patient for surgery, diagnostic tests, treatments, examinations. Administration of medications within scope of practice. Identification and set up of intravenous equipment and delivery of solutions for infusion through peripheral access devices Administer blood or blood products, with special training.
