Description Stationary Engineer-Plant Operations-Part Time-Evening-Mount Sinai Queens Under supervision, ensures the operation and provision of Hospital utility services, heat, water, electricity, air conditioning, etc., on a twenty-four hour basis. Incumbents in this title perform similar, but not identical duties. This is a position with no supervisory responsibility. Responsibilities 1. Operates, maintains and monitors the Boiler Room and auxiliary equipment, i.e. pumps, emergency generators, etc. ensuring operations and safety 2. Makes emergency repairs, mechanical and electrical to prevent or stop interruptions of utility services. Runs emergency generator as required. 3. Supervises and monitors work of engineering staff during assigned watch. 4. Checks electrical power supply and load of current being drawn three times during shift. 5. Adjusts major air conditioning units and/or heat depending on needs, to ensure proper temperature; checks exhaust and supply fans for proper ventilation. 6.
