Description The Medical Assistant is an individual who functions in a support role to Clinical Nurse Manager by providing direct patient care and related activities as assigned. As a medical assistant one must be able to multi-task while at the same time focus on details of the proper identification of patients to ensure their safety, label all specimens correctly in accordance with the hospital policy and procedures established by the laboratory. Supports the mission, vision and philosophy of the institution. Responsibilities 1. Assist the primary care provider and specialists with the physical examination of the patients as needed. 2. Escort patient to the examination room, instruct patients on the preparation for examination. Assist in the disrobing and dressing after examination is completed if necessary to ensure patient safety and comfort. 3.
