Description The Department of Surgery at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai is committed to producing the finest surgeons, using a dynamic didactic curriculum and a teaching philosophy rooted in mentorship. Our residents work as a team, employing the latest technology in surgical simulation and using web-based clinical modules that complement our robust skills laboratory. Our residents are exposed to everything from general surgery to colon and rectal surgery, pediatric surgery, and plastic surgery, and from surgical intensive care medicine and surgical oncology to vascular surgery. Having contact and experience with such a wide variety of procedures enriches the educational experience and broadens the knowledge base of the surgeons we train.
