Description The Kenny laboratory at Department of Neuroscience at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai is seeking to hire a Research Associate. The successful candidate will be expected to meet expectations for colony maintenance, surgical productivity, surgical outcomes and data acquisition. Responsibilities Perform surgery and invasive procedures on rodents, with special emphasis on the brain, in accordance with approved IACUC research protocol Conduct/assist in animal behavior experiments using techniques specific to the assigned research project Assist in animal colony maintenance. Under direct supervision, conducts routine and standardized experiments using appropriate research techniques specific to subject matter of the research project. Analyzes and assists in interpreting laboratory results. Maintains laboratory environment and assists in the upkeep of appropriate inventory; may include ordering of supplies. Assists in the collection, analysis and review of experimental data for publication and presentation. Performs other related duties.
