Description

Description Performs a variety of secretarial duties, under general supervision, in any assigned department or nursing unit. Is cognizant of the philosophy, standards, objectives and policies of the Department and the Hospital Center. Responsibilities 1. Demonstrates the ability to perform clinical/technical/service/administrative tasks. 2. Answers telephone, screen calls, takes messages and provides information according to established policies. 3. Types correspondence, memos, reports, minutes, etc. Proofs typed materials, makes corrections and recommends changes. Copies as necessary. 4. Handles incoming and outgoing mail, opens, sorts, and prioritizes; answers routine inquiries and correspondence. 5. Maintains appointment books for meetings, patients, travel, etc. Arranges meetings. 6. Maintains files; assists in setting up office systems. 7. Orders office and clinical supplies as requested; assists in care and maintenance of department equipment. 8. Maintains established hospital/departmental/unit policies, procedures, objectives, quality assurance, safety, environmental and infection control. 9.
