Description The Milton and Carroll Petrie Department of Urology has long been a leader in clinical practice, education, and research. Faculty in our Department, which is housed within the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, perform complex procedures using robotics, laparoscopy, and endoscopy, all as a part of our minimally invasive urologic surgery program. We remain equally committed to engaging in breakthrough research while training the next generation of leaders in the field. The Billing Coordinator (Generalist) is responsible for multiple components of the billing process, including Accounts Receivable, Charge Entry, Edits and Payment Posting. The Billing Coordinator (Generalist) is proficient in these processes to facilitate accurate and timely payment of claims and collection. Responsibilities Verifies insurance and registration data for scheduled outpatient/inpatient encounters and scheduled surgeries; reviews encounter forms for accuracy. May be responsible for obtaining pre-certification for scheduled surgeries and admissions. Enters office, inpatient, and/or outpatient charges with accurate data entry of codes.
