Description The Medical Clerical Associate performs clerical and operational tasks necessary to run an efficient patient care operation, under direct supervision. S/he works closely with Administrator and/or Senior Medical Office Assistant and members of other health care team. Responsibilities Staffs reception desk. Retrieves files for scheduled visits 24 hours prior to the visit. Distributes daily schedule to their assigned NP/MD/RN team member. Re-files the records that represent patients/clients who have been seen by the clinical care staff or are “no shows”. Searches for records that were identified as “missing” in the 24 hour time period. Performs patient transportation services on an emergency basis, as necessary. Arranges for and/or transport blood and other samples to labs on a “stat” basis, as necessary. Covers the phones and triage all phone calls, as necessary.
