Oncology Transplant Coordinator - Bone Marrow Transplant - Columbia University Irving Medical Center
Under the direction of Bone Marrow Transplant Medical Director, coordinates stem cell transplant, cell therapy and gene therapy procedures for selected candidates. Acts as the medical liaison with various departments involved with the care of these patients. Ensures adherence to protocols and program certification requirements, data collection and reporting.
Job responsibilities include: Referral intake and screening of all potential candidates; supervises evaluation of potential candidates for stem cell or mononuclear cell collection; coordinate mobilization for stem cell collection as needed; educate patient & caregivers on self-injection of medication; facilitates completion of work-up and documentation in pre-transplant files; organizes pre-transplant evaluation of in-patients; reviews work-up results with transplant physician.
Required Criteria:
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
- New York RN license
- Blood stem cell transplant experience
