Job Description
We are seeking a self-motivated, detail-oriented summer intern who excels in a collaborative, people-first environment here at Regard. In this role, you will join a small cohort of interns and work with our engineering team in helping build our intelligent system to ensure no diagnosis is missed, helping physicians spend less time in the EHR (electronic health records), and dramatically improve healthcare technology and patient care. As a summer intern you will work in a dynamic HealthTech start-up building the future of healthcare. Come join our team.
In a typical week you may:
- Develop high impact features for physicians and iterate directly on their feedback
- Work closely with the design team to brainstorm on new products and features
- Harden our existing FE infrastructure to ensure reliability and scalability within the EHR
- Experiment with new libraries and feature ideas to push the envelope and impact of Regard
- Grow full-stack skills like Python/Flask and AWS

Another AI "co-pilot" that integrates with EMR systems to assist clinical workflows and decisioning (see Abridge for another example amongst many), Regard has already integrated with huge players like Cerner and Epic. They've partnered with OpenAI to use its GPT-4 model to accelerate the capabilities of its co-pilot, but ChatGPT also released it's own personalized AI app builder features recently (not to mention that data costs for using ChatGPT are many times more expensive than hosting through AWS or other platforms, though not having to build and train a large language model from scratch is certainly a cost and time save in of itself). One has to wonder if healthcare is reaching a "critical mass" in terms of AI co-pilots but, then again, the US healthcare system is incredibly fractured already...so different systems could theoretically partner with different players.
