A startup that has achieved unicorn status several times over (see its $7Bn valuation in Feb 2022), the direct-to-patient healthcare movement doesn't seem to be going away. What's interesting to think about is the macro-level impacts that services like this offer for increasing access to medications. There's quite a bit of competition in this field from small and large players, as well as the ever looming specter of Big Tech players like Amazon. Still, Ro's growth has been absolutely remarkable and it seems like they could be here to stay. (October 2023)
