Diabetes is pretty common - the US CDC calculates that 1 in 10 Americans has diabetes, with 90-95% having Type 2 diabetes. With such a huge population, this is a huge cost center in healthcare, digital twin technology seems like a perfect tech to develop. A digital twin (a virtual representation of an object or system designed to accurately reflect a physical object according to IBM) creates a huge set of opportunities to test treatments, track disease, and more...basically doubling any study sample size by testing a "digital" version against a real live patient. And Twin Health is making headwinds in this opportunity space for diabetes - they've raised hundreds of millions of dollars to date, have multiple studies running, and outcomes are looking positive.
