    NP: Occupational Health Services

    $208,000 per year
    Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

    Job Description

    The Company

Vitable's mission is to provide delightful and accessible healthcare to hourly worker who often fall into the Coverage Gap—meaning that they might earn too much to qualify for Medicaid, but not enough to afford traditional health insurance. We offer affordable memberships to small and medium-sized businesses. Their employees become our members, gaining access to care from our provider network. Our core services include primary care, mental health counseling/couching, and occupational health services. We meet our members where they are: online, at home, and at work, eliminating the need for brick & mortar clinics.

    The Role

Vitable Health is seeking per diem Nurse Practitioner to provide occupational health services for pop-up clinics at our clients’ offices. In addition to administrative physicals, these can often include QTF or PPD test and/or drug and alcohol panels.

    Responsibilities

    • Conduct comprehensive physical assessments and medical histories of patients
    • Administer and read PPD tests or perform blood draws
    • Instruct patients on self-collection
    • Document patient care in electronic health ...

    The Real Dill ☘️

There are many gaps in the US healthcare system from a coverage standpoint, and Vitalize Health is focusing on a very specific one: hourly workers. Specifically, what happens if you're an hourly worker, make too much to qualify for Medicaid, but not enough to cover the premiums, deductibles, and other costs of other insurance plans? Vitalize Health, coming out of Philadelphia, is working to change that, charging a monthly subscription rate to employees for basic healthcare coverage. This gap may seem crazy to clinicians from single payer systems like the UK's NHS, but is widespread in the US. And Vitalize? They've been backed by giants like billionaire Peter Thiel, Softbank, and Y Combinator to fulfill its mission. (November 2023)
