Even at surface level, the ability to use AI to detect cardiac issues as early as possible has enormous implications for patient care - heart disease is the leading cause of death for men, women, and people of most racial and ethnic groups in the United State, and one person dies every 33 seconds in the United States from cardiovascular disease according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevenetion (CDC). But, when you dig deeper, the opportunities continue to grow - what if, in addition to detection, you could identify which patients would be most responsive to specific treatments? Or, what if we could design totally new treatments that work earlier, faster, and longer?
